how to makeup your eyes pop when y ou wear glasses

Spec-worthy makeup can make for a pretty eye-mazing (tsk, tsk) masterpiece if you know how to work it the right way. If you overdo it though, you risk looking like a sexy librarian better suited for, er, home videos. Play it too safe and you fall back into the ye olde 'four eyes' category . For any gal looking to sharpen up her spec-style and emerge a lot easier on the eyes  here are some tips for donning your face paint the glasses-friendly way.

SPEC-TACULAR TIP #1 - LESS IS MORE

When it comes to your glasses, Neutral Nancy looks a lot better than Sparkly Sally. Why, you may ask? Because wearing glasses draws plenty of the attention to eyes already, so it's best to stay in neutral territory. Try dabbling with browns, pastels or light grays coupled with some gentle contouring on your creases for added definition (this can be done with slightly darker shades). Do NOT, I repeat, NOT opt for a severely smoky eye. Really, just don't! i just brought this pallet and it is amazing

SPEC-TACULAR TIP #2 - MASCARA IS YOUR BFF

When it's time to apply mascara, go all out. No really - don't hold back! Of course, you don't want clumpy, spider-leg lashes but you do want bold, high-voltage ones. Considering you've got a neutral lid, you can get away with 2-3 coats of black mascara for truly pretty-ful peepers.

 SPEC-TACULAR TIP #3 - LINE IT UP

So as to make your eyes pop, match your eyeliner with the width of your spec frames. For those rocking thicker frames, opt for a thick liner on your upper lid so you create a stand-out look in the blink of an eye (ha!). If you have thinner frames, go for a softer line as remember the key rule - less is more (believe me, you really don't want raccoon eyes)! If you want to move this look over to nighttime, line the entire eye with a softer texture to create cat-like peepers, while still retaining the minimalist style.

SPEC-TACULAR TIP #4 - EYEBROW RAISER

Now it's time to dabble with bold brows, my fav part! The brows shape your face and, in turn, glasses frames draw attention to them, therefore it's tres important to ensure you shape and colour them the right way so that they're neat and groomed. Make em' strong and define them using a brow pencil. Need the right shape? Eye-brow bars in your local city are your best bet. However, if you haven't yet discovered a truly awesome brow-ologist (I swear that should be a real word), then Benefit Brow Bars at Myer stores across Australia are just a tad bit special. Okay, I lie. They're really, really spesh. Check them out!

SPEC-TACULAR TIP #5 - MAKE EM' BLUSH

Ever since I started toying around with creme blush, I've been hooked. The dewy pigment makes the cheeks look gently luminous without making you look like a ten-dollar you-know-what. And since it's important for your make-up to remain (refresher time!) simple and neutral, it's best to opt for a soft, girlie glow on the apples of your cheeks. Track down a creme blush that contains a sheer rosy, pink hue and will stain your cheeks oh-so-gorgeously. Aw, shucks!

SPEC-TACULAR TIP #6 - PUCKER UP

Contrary to what those lippy-hatin' critics may say, it's cool to rock a bold lip during the day, night..heck even in your sleep and this is particularly the case if you wear glasses. Considering you've been so well-behaved and kept things - gasp! - uber simple everywhere else, go all out on your lips and don a luminous colour for a perfect pout. However, if you're still really digging the neutrals, aim for a lighter colour. Anything goes, really
